My journey through burnout began in 2011, marked by obesity, exhaustion, adult acne, mood changes, mild depression, asthma, and allergies. These experiences became a turning point, prompting a deep re-evaluation of how I was living, helping, and caring for myself. That period shaped my understanding of nervous system stress, boundaries, and the long arc of recovery. This chapter of my life is captured in my book, Helping Effortlessly: A Book of Healing and Inspiration.
While I no longer offer burnout or wellness services, this lived experience continues to inform how I support families today. I am a registered Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP), a parent to an adult autistic son, and a retired foster parent after more than 18 years of service. I actively provide parent coaching, often supporting parents navigating high-conflict situations, complex family dynamics, and court-involved parenting with a child-focused lens.
I live in Ontario, Canada, with my wife and children. Outside of my professional work, I value time outdoors, movement, gardening, reading, and cooking. These quieter practices reflect the sustainable, intentional life I’ve built after burnout and continue to ground my work with families.
